I'm Moving to Sweden
After being delayed for months with this plan, I am finally moving to Sweden! The first few months of 2018 wasn't easy; all thanks to POEA. Nonetheless, I already have all the documents needed in order for me to leave the Philippines. Moving abroad is easier said than done. At the age of 16 I finally decided I want to move abroad, and my parents gave me that chance when they enrolled me in a university in Australia, but I came back to the Philippines after finishing the program. Thinking about it now made me realize how impulsive I was.
When Miguel and I had a conversation about moving out of the country, I told him I initially wanted to live in Australia, New Zealand or Canada. He then told me he's not planning to move; but, there's one country that he is really interested in: SWEDEN.
Living in Sweden never really crossed my mind. I want to get to know Miguel more, I thought. I read more about Sweden and wondered what made him like the country. Little did I know I'm falling in love with Sweden.
I remember I posted it on Facebook in 2016 until a year later, I have a flight to Sweden, and Facebook notified me about its memories. What a coincidence? A year later and I'm on my way to Sweden for a final interview in a company. If everything goes well with the interview, then I am one step closer to my goal.
I stayed in Stockholm for 3 days only. There are different places that I could visit, but I didn't plan ahead on where I want to go. Preparing for the interview and getting over jet lag, I only went to visit a few places: Gamla Stan and The Vasa Museum.
The same week when I came back to Manila, I received a call and the company offered me the job! I couldn't believe that I made it! I'm moving to Sweden! I'm moving abroad! Now I understood why things didn't go the way I wanted to last year — my new work, new environment and new place. I've felt more disappointed than I ever I did.
It's been a while since I last posted on my blog. For now, here's the update that I want to share with you all! ❤
As you read this, I am probably about to board the plane or on my way to Sweden. I'll miss home but I'm looking forward to this new chapter in life. Goodbye for now, Manila! ❤
